Install/Update official firmware on samsung
Hello friends, in this article i am going to show you how to Install official firmware on samsung or update any version of firmware to your samsung mobile manually. Sometimes the mobile does not get updates because of the device too old or if you rooted the mobile. So the best way to undo root by installing stock firmware or updating the firmware is need to do by manually.
To do this process you need couple of things.
- Download Samsung USB driver
You can download directly from https://developer.samsung.com/mobile/android-usb-driver.html
- Download Odin
Get odin from https://odindownload.com/
- Download your device firmware
You can download it from official site https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
Now install Samsung USB driver. and after that extract odin and your device firmware.
Now you will see your firmware file on your extracted firmware directory.
After that Turn off your mobile and connect device to PC and run on download mode
(Check how to run your device in download mode)
After going to download mode, Open Odin
You will see a interface similar to above (In some versions the AP button maybe PDA), but dont worry they will be same. in the log it will alert you if the device is added successfully.
Now add your firmware file to AP or PDA according to your version of Odin.
Now Start the process. It will take a while to install and make sure you wont loss power or battery of your mobile while this process ongoing.
It will show PASS notify with green color if the process completed
Note – Make sure to check your device Baseband version (settings->about device) matches to the firmware you download.
